En visitant Beignon, village natal de G. Deshayes

Beignon est un petit village du département du Morbihan. Il se trouve entre Rennes et Ploërmel. C'est là qu'est né Gabriel Deshayes, le 6 décembre 1767.

Beignon is a small town between Rennes and Ploërmel (France west - Department of Morbihan). The 6th of December 1767, Gabriel Deshayes was born here.

Elle se trouve derrière la Mairie.
Elle est très facile à trouver.

Musée   Musée

La maison a été transformée en Musée. L'intérieur a été laissé tel qu'il était. Le grenier a été transformé en salle d'exposition. On peut y voir des objets ayant appartenu à Deshayes.

The house shelters a Museum now. The interior is such as it was. The attic has been transformed into a museum with explanation panels. Several belongings owned by G. Deshayes can be see.

 

Le Pavillon  

A proximité, se trouve le petit bâtiment
dit "Le Pavillon", dans lequel séjournait Gabriel Deshayes lorsqu'il revenait dans
sa famille ou se reposer dans son pays.

Ce pavillon abrite maintenant un oratoire.


Close the Deshayes family house, there is a small cottage called "Le Pavillon". It was the home of Deshayes when he back in her family or when he need to rest in his country. Today, this "Pavillon" contains an oratory.

Dans le bourg, la maison qui fut le berceau de la Congrégation des Soeurs de l'Instruction Chrétienne existe toujours (photo de gauche, ci-dessus). Elle abrite maintenant une école. A proximité se trouve la propriété - maintenant privée - du Pourpris (photo de droite).

Une place porte le nom de
Michelle Guillaume, l'enfant du pays, qui fut la première institutrice de l'école de Beignon.

Fonts baptismaux  

A l'intérieur de l'Eglise, les fonts baptismaux sont toujours là.

Un portrait et une plaque rappellent le souvenir de Gabriel Deshayes.
